Our BR, Bandit, seemed to be egg bound this afternoon. I've been waiting to apply this scrap of knowledge, so I grabbed her and filled a pot with warm water to soak that egg out of her, forgetting that I'd only ever washed bantams in that pot. I think she appreciated having warm legs anyway! After a few minutes she started peering at the top of my head and I caught her mid flight. I rushed my dripping chicken out the door, and just in time too because an egg went shooting past my arm and landed with a mighty splat! Bandit glared at me and then darted in the coop. She came out after a few minutes, and other than staring wonderingly at her wet legs she was her usual self. Never a dull moment! Especially with Barred Rocks :)

What a great idea, I need to remember that if that problem ever comes up. I probably should start looking for a big enough pot in the mean time :) Great story!
