    August 23rd from 9am to 2pm
The Bangor Farmers Swap located at the Tractor Supply Company, 1161 Broadway, Bangor ME.
If you plan to set up as a vendor at the swaps the following guidelines need to be followed. It is your responsibility to follow these guidelines, not that of the Bangor Farmers Swap, or Tractor Supply Company. Asking to join the page/group indicates that you have read and agree to these guidelines. It is free to set up a table so come set up and have a good time. The Farmers Swaps primary focus is chickens; however other farm animals (goats, rabbits, ducks, sheep, turkey, pigs, etc...) can be sold and swapped. The Farmers Swap is intended for the selling of Farm animals and a place where people thinking of getting involved in the raising of these animals can come, ask questions and see what’s involved. It is not intended to be a crafts fair or to sell items that are in direct conflict with what is sold at Tractor Supply, (Feed, Feeders, waterers etc.) Items directly derived from your farm animals can be sold. Hand made items used by or on farm animals can also be sold so long as it is not in conflict with Tractor Supply. If you are unsure of what can and can not be sold please ask before the swap. The contact persons for the Bangor Farmers Swap are Charlotte (Cat) and Paul Randall.
All animals offered for sale/trade whether or not any money changes hands, should be healthy and in good condition. Sick or diseased animals have no place at the swap, and if you have sick animals at home, please stay home to avoid spreading any commutable disease. Many can be carried on your clothing or shoes. The owner/seller is responsible for all sales and to be sure they are following Maine state law.
It will be the responsibility of each vendor to provide adequate shelter, caging, water and food for their animals.
It will also be the responsibility of each vendor to clean up their areas when leaving.
Bangor Tractor Supply has given us the area in the parking lot to the left of the store running along the side of the building. The store asks that we do not block the flow of customers to the store.
If you are selling small animals please bring boxes so your animals can be safely transported to their new home.
IT WILL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF EACH VENDOR TO ABIDE BY STATE OF MAINE LAWS AND REGULATIONS; TO PROVIDE ANY REQUIRED LICENSING, ADEQUATE SHELTER, CAGING, WATER AND FOOD FOR THEIR ANIMALS; & TO CLEAN UP THEIR AREAS WHEN LEAVING.
Maine State Laws governing the sale of poultry/waterfowl & goats
    Maine State Law:
5A.All sheep & goats (no matter the age or whether castrated or not) must be tagged if they are up for sale at any event. All sheep/goat being sold from a farm need to have a tag, whether being sold in state or out of state. Castrated sheep/goat must also be tagged. The farmer is required to keep records for 5 years. A small yellow book is usually provided with the tag shipment for recording of the tag number, date sold, etc.
5B. Poultry (ducks, chicks, turkeys etc) have to be sold in lots of 6 from one seller if they are under 8 weeks old. After 8 weeks of age, they can go one at a time. Now, from your house or farm you can sell single birds of any age.
