Bantam Chicks Breed and Sex

Morning all,

We have some beautiful Bantam chicks who we believe to be gold Wynadotte, silver Wyandotte and 2 Pekin's (Cochin's).

I'd like to ask if we have the breeds correct and if you'd like to guess at the gender.

They are a week old today, these pictures were taken yesterday but if these are no good I will take better pictures today.

I should say, this is just for fun. I know it's way too early to be able to be accurate

Wyandotte's are not bantams they are standard size. Which ones are the supposed Cochins?

Odd because that's what the breeder called them and there are numerous websites with info on them. Granted they aren't true Bantams but there are a lot that aren't.
The yellow chick and the slightly darker yellow with the dot on top of his head are supposed to be cochin.

Curious, I did not know that there was a bantam variety.

If they are from a breeder they should be the breeds you were told. I would repost pictures at about 4-6 weeks old for confirmation of breed and genders just to be certain.

Can you get individual photos of the chicks standing, from the side? As well as comb pics?

They are far too young to sex. Post updated pics at 6 weeks, showing combs and wattles.

Thanks guess, I'm not looking for accurate guesses just the type like when you are pregnant and people say oh it's a boy because you're carrying high etc just a bit of fun.

In terms of breed, I have to be honest and say I was pretty excited when I picked these little guys up and was giving lots of information and the only thing I remember her saying we're that we had two different Wynadotte and 2 pekins, I wasn't sure who was who or what colours she said!

They all have the wrong color skin to be the breeds listed, except for Nugget. Nugget only has about 20% of the leg and foot feathering a Pekin should have.

The "gold laced" isn't gold laced. I don't see any silver laced. It's possible that the "breeder" has a mixed color pen and just poor quality birds. Another possibility is that they are mixed breeds.

I think the best thing to do here would be to post updated pics once they are fully feathered. Then maybe we can get them sorted out for you!
