The majority of my "straight run" banty cochins are roosters, I think. [IMG] No "boy" saddle feathers yet, but those combs are pretty red. (Sorry about poor picture quality.) What do you think?

Pretty birds. #1 and #3 are pullets. The rest are cockerels.

In pix #2, there seems to be quite a bit of red in the whole pix. If the comb is in reality not as red as the pix shows, it may very well be a pullet. The comb is smallish. Can you get a better pix of #2?

Mine are about that same age and I have not seen the pointed hackle feathers on the ones that I think might be girls but there is one that has them for sure. I hope you end up with more girls than boys. Looks like mine might be the opposite problem. Love the cuckoo one.

Edited to add a pic of my 7 week old rooster:

    And Girl?

Not sure about the rest of them either. They are all about the same as this one, not quite
as red as the one I know is a roo.

I was told by a cochin breeder that sometimes they are more red than other breeds and it is hard to tell
at this age. But most do not appear to have pointed feathers around the neck or tail area.

    What about yours?
