I'm looking to purchase some bantam hatching eggs of breeds that lay dark brown eggs like the Marans. I'd love to try and get some bantam Olive Eggers.

Even the bantam marans and bantam welsummers do not lay eggs that dark. They are a work in progress [IMG]

I know gamebirdsonly has bantam welsummers and quailladyoffortmyers has bantam marans. You could contact one or both of them to see if they have any available. I'm sure there are others on here that have them but these are the ones I know of.

I have both the welsummer and Bantam marans.

Here are a couple pics of what some of my Bantam welsummer are laying.

With out flash. The middle egg is what my older welsummer bantams lay and big egg is a LF welsummer

Right now I do not have any eggs for sale. Birds are all free ranging. Probably won't have any until sept or oct.

Quote:Those look really nice! I didn't think the bantams laid eggs as dark as the LF.

They didn't. I started taking the darkest eggs and hatching them out back in January. I have been very happy with the results already. I thought it would take couple years to get them this dark.
