My little bantam took up the habit of eating sand, lots and lots of sand. I took her in, the operated and took out 1 pound, that is right, a pound out of her crop. I fed her by a tube for a week with a special diet. Her crop was in much better shape so I let her out under supervision, I had been keeping her in a dog kennel. She did well for two weeks and now is back to eating sand to the point where her crop is blocked and swinging. Help please.

The weird thing is I have had her for years without any diet issues or others picking on her. It has just been the last several months that she has become nervous and avoids her regular food, including oyster shells and grit and is now finding the tiniest pieces of sand to eat. I'm worried because she is impacting her crop again.
