Bantam egg laying?

My sweet polish bantam laid her first tiny egg last week, and hasn’t laid since. Should I be worried?

No, banties are odd about that. Wait for a second opinion however.

Some Bantam breeds are better layers than others. Most Bantam breeds are ornamental and therefore egg production wasn’t a high priority. In my experience it also depends on the individua bird. My Frizzle Bantam hen lays an egg practically everyday.

Yeah, I don’t care if she’s a good layer or not, I just want to make sure she’s not sick or something. I’m new to chickens (new mom to these chicks last May) and just want to make sure they are healthy.

Even without taking into consideration that she is a bantam, new layers do some weird stuff. As long as she appears healthy and happy, eats/drinks and doesn't show signs of distress, just give her some time.
