We live in Seattle and cannot have rooster. Our little Dot has been trying to crow in the morning and has been trying to mount the other chickens. I tried to read forums of how to tell but I don't want to mistake her as a rooster and give her away.

Well I have no experience with roos but can you wait a bit longer until "he" to truly crowing before you re-home him? A picture might help as well :)

A picture and the age of the bird would help :)
But, if it acts like a rooster, there's a good chance it is...
