A friend of mine went to pick up a free plant stand and saw this, hen? The person with the plant stand has been feeding it, but is not sure on gender. She says it’s been roaming the neighborhood since January..and we are welcome to catch and adopt if we can catch it
Any guesses on breed and gender? Mine guess is some sort of game bantam and hopeful it’s a hen!!
Thanks!

That’s what I thought too!! I dont see anything that says rooster. The woman said she thought she heard a small crow one time, but 3+ months you should have heard it more often than only once, I would think
We caught her finally, it took 6 humans to catch this fast little girl
So cute! Her color looks to be birchen! I don't think breed will be able to be narrowed down. She looks to be a mix. Very pretty though!

Thank you! It looks female to me too, but im usually wrong
Adults are usually easier than young chicks :)

I do not see and pointy, dangling saddle feathers in front of the tail, so probably not a rooster. (A few "hen feathered" roosters exist, but I do not think this is one.)

Also, since it has been hanging around for months, I think they would have heard it crowing if it was a rooster.
