Bantam Rooster with Scaly Feet

    Hi There,

    Our 16 month old Bantam Rooster has this funny growth on his feet, not sure when it started, none of other chickens (we have a mix of bantam and laying chooks).

    Have had a look at the symptoms of Bumble Foot but i dont think it fits.

    It looks like you may have a couple of things going on. Soak his feet and legs in warm soapy water and clean them well. This will help you see if the dark spot on the bottom of the foot is debris buildup or actually an injury/scab like bumblefoot.

    For the legs apply some vaseline, castor oil, coconut oil, etc (treatment links below). Check the rest of his body for any signs of lice/mite paying attention to the vent, under the wings and neck/head. If you find any critters give treat him with poultry dust or spray.
