We have had a bunch of hens suddenly decide that they want to be mommas! Dove is a White Leghorn Bantam hen who just hatched 7 chicks on New Year's Day. The chicks are also pure white except for 3 black spots on their back; I believe their daddy is a Black Tailed Buff Japanese. She has been free ranging during the day and sleeps in the horse barn at night though she is locked in the little chicken hutch with the little ones for now.
