Hi! I have a cross beaked bantam that will be 2-yrs-old this March. She started laying 3-4 eggs per week last summer and stopped in the fall. I haven't seen one of her little brown eggs since. She did not molt when all my others standard size or the other bantams did. Is it normal for them to just stop laying? Do you guys think she might be done permanently?

A lot of people are still waiting for their girls to begin laying again. I don't know how bad her beak is, but a lot of calories are needed to keep a chicken warm. Depending on how much food she is getting, it may take her longer to have the energy to lay again.
There is a forum for those of us with special needs chickens. It is called "Diary of a Cross beak"
