bare spot on the butt of my 8 month old cuckoo maran

Hi! I have a 8 month old cuckoo maran who has lost the fuzz around her vent ( on her bottom). The baldness is localized only to her vent area. You can see the pink skin. As far as i can tell, she is still laying, eating, drinking,and pooping regular poop. None of my other birds have this. any ideas on what it could be, and how to treat it? Thanks, Pat

I purchased a hen that was that way before. My guess is mites but don't know for sure. I treated mine with DE and the feather came right in with no further problem. I don't have the hen anymore but she was the only one that had the problem.

Thanks, paddock! I am going to dust all my birds with DE today, and also add it to the pine shavings in the coop. Couldn't hurt!
