Anyone know what kind of barnevelder these little chicks are going to turn out to be? They're almost 2 weeks old.

I think they are silvers, but it's tough to tell in the photos.

Look closely at the wing feathers-- if they have a gold or brownish tint in the lighter areas, then these are gold. If they have a pure silver color without brown or gold in the lighter areas of the wing feathers, then they are silver.

I see black, not blue in the darker areas of the wing feathers, but look for yourself and decide. Color in photos is often unreliable.

I wish we had some Barnevelder specialists in this forum that could be of more help to you.

I'm pretty sure those are silvers. Mine looked very similar at that age. I had one blue in with mine as a surprise and that was tough to figure out for weeks :)

The breeder quality silver I had didn't have any gold or reddish in the down. It was black and white completely... So I don't think silver.
Good observation... I just looked back at baby pics of mine, and they did all have solid black backs for the silver. It's the one who turned out to be blue who had brown down. So they could be blue potentially.
