I have 3 Doubled laced barnevelders, about 4 weeks old.
Only one hatched with grey chest (which is supposed to indicate pullet), but that one ended up being by far the largest of the lot, with treestump-like legs, which makes me wonder if it's a roo now...

Input on these pictures - pullet or roo??

I'm not seeing anything shouting rooster yet, however it's a little early to tell for sure. Can you post a few more photos in a couple of weeks?

So the large one was a pullet?

I would have had trouble picking out the roo in your batch at those ages....my roosters never got the penciling like these showed...I knew something was amiss with all the black and little to no penciling to indicate lacing to come...and I had one of cream color chest and the other a more white...both roos.

But this was my first batch of Barnevelders. I kept the nicest one of the roos to breed for olive eggers. He is a sweet heart.

My photos so you can see what I mean as to color difference:

I had some SLB it was very hard to gender them! But we finely have found a way! It seems that pullet have much mor distinctive pattern of lacing than cockerels.
    See pic.
