Hello, I hatched 17 chicks 3 weeks ago sold as "barnyard mix". The flock they came from included a "red rooster"(unknown genetics, looks like a new hampshire red to me), and an easter egger rooster, who is less dominant and didn't seem to fertilize many. The hens are: barred rock, buff orpington, olive eggers, and easter eggers.

I suspect that the mix of the "red rooster" and the barred hens would create sexlinks, but I want to be sure. I'm trying to get rid of some of the males and these seem easy to identify, so for now I am just asking about the barred/black chicks.

I suspect that 1-3 are cockerels, and 4&5 are pullets. It might be too early still. What do you all think?

Thanks! I'll post the chipmunk and buff chicks in another thread. I think they need to get a little older to identify.

Almost forgot! Here are the two that I gave away to a friend. I suspect #6 is a pullet and #7 is a cockerel. What do you think? :)
