Barred Gender?

    Please chime and help me settle a debate on the gender of this 3-4 month old chick, first picture. It is a bit darker than my roo(2nd) and comb and waddles are a bit smaller but could be the age difference. Pictured with the older rock roo buddy(3rd).

    It's a rooster. The darker color is because it's not pure bred. Looks like the momma was maybe a buff Orpington? Is that a possibility? Anyway, it's male, regardless of breed.

    Don't know the parents, got it from a poultry auction with a group of new Hampshire chicks and a few other BRs
