Hi all!

I am a first time chicken raiser. We just got 11 barred rock Plymouth chicks almost 3 weeks ago. They all seem to be doing well and their feathers are coming in beautifully... except for our little girl Baby. She is most definitely the runt- she is about half the size of the other ladies in our flock but she can hold her own and runs around like crazy with the other girls. Her feathers are growing in really slowly and they look very weird (to me). Not sure if anyone else has seen this with their chicks and if this is something I should be concerned about?

Some chicks do grow their feathers much slower than others. As long as she seems active and generally healthy, I wouldn't worry about it. (But if you don't like that trait, then don't breed chicks from her, or you'll have more like that.)
