I’ve heard some people are able to determine gender of day old barred Plymouth Rock chicks based on the size and shape of the head spot and color of the legs. I’m thinking possibly roo?

Males have a mullet, females have a toupee. But the trait can be lost if its a hatchery bird.They seem to have a lot of yellow on them, where'd you get them?
I think it’s just the lighting, in person it is very much white. He/She is from a hatching egg I ordered. I attached a pic of the same bird in different lighting.

He was a rooster and a beautiful docile one at that my daughter named him zipper and he would let her hold him and pet him but he just passed a few weeks ago from coccidiosis
