I've hatched quite a few Barred Rocks, both from my own flock and from my friend Kate's flock, and I've never seen one with obvious stripes like this one. He is from my BR Lexie's egg and the only rooster she has access to is my BR Hawkeye. Anyone ever see this? It looks very much like my Silver Laced Wyandotte girls did as chicks, minus the white headspot, of course. Weird.

And some of the other babies, too. The older ones are 6 days old and the BRs, Ameraucana and two of the Orpingtons are 3 days old.[IMG]

That is odd. I've never seen a BR with those makings either. It'll be interesting to see how he develops.

That's good to hear, LOL. In all my hatching, this is the first one like this. I was beginning to think one of my SLW girls laid an egg like Lexie's and Lex was just sitting on it when I collected!

Well, I think they're especially tubby! The Orps and Orp/Brahma crosses are very round! You should see Charlotte's little baby. Black as coal, feet completely black and the poufiest cheeks of any I've hatched. Such a cutie! Sure hope it's a girl since it's the last one of hers I'll ever have.
