I have about 10 barred rock chicks that are 6 weeks old. Its been between 70-80 during the day and 40-50 at night. I want so badly to move them outside. Would this be to cold for them?

Are they fully feathered (generally the head is the last to feather - are their heads downy or feathered)? I move my chicks out at around 5 weeks as they tend to be feathered out at that point -- I start weaning them from the supplemental heat a week before that. If they are fully feathered, no longer dependent on supplemental heat and are going into a secure shelter that will provide them a draft free area to keep themselves/each other warm move them out.

Those temperatures are fine. It's more important that they are acclimated to the temperature. So as long as where they have been kept is close than move them out. Just make sure at night they are ventilated but draft free.
