I'm pretty sure she's a pullet, but we've had two others of a different breed that are for sure roosters and we don't have a permit for roosters, so now I'm paranoid! None of the other breeds her age have much of a comb at all. She's 11 weeks old. Do barred rocks just mature much more quickly in this respect?

    Thanks!

    Looks like a roo
Hens will be black w/ white stripes, while roosters will look white w/ black stripes
    Although, I'm no expert!

Definately a roo. BR roosters are typically have less black coloring then hens. So...you have a very lovely rooster on your hands. [IMG]

Here are my two BR's. Hen on the left, roo on the right. Here is my roo a bit older:

Sorry, but that's a rooster. Roosters have wider, more prevalent white barring.

Pics above are a very good example of the difference.

Oh dear! [IMG] , despite the bad news.

Hens combs that I have weren't that red and none were that light, I would like a side shot though, the roo to the left was 12 wks old . Monster comb and waddles, hackles, saddle, and upright tail. He is Top Dog of the 4 Rock roos we have.
