Hi this is Beverly she is about 5-6 months old and looks like a male to me except her coloring. Im hoping Im wrong because I want all hens. I have 2 other hens that just started laying and i dont thinks she one of them. She may just be a late bloomer but id like to get some other opinions.

That is a hen, her comb/wattles are large and red because she will start laying eggs for you soon.

X2 a hen because she has the dark female coloring plus the dark strip down the front of the legs. Males don't have the strip, and ar much lighter gray.

  5. She is a hen, and RoostersCrow is correct that her comb/wattles are more red but that doesn't mean she will be laying for you soon exactly, it means she has reached maturity in which her body is ready to produce eggs.

That is a hen, and she sure looks like she's laying to me. If not now, then literally any day now.
