    Hello everybody!

We have a young hen we got a couple months back, and the person we bought her from said she was a Barred Rock. She sure looks like it, but at a local fair the other day we saw a Dominique that seemed to match her comb size/color more accurately.

The other thing is that she lays large, bright white eggs! From what have read online, both of those breeds lay brown/tan eggs.

It doesn't really matter either way because she's a great layer and has a really social personality that we love!

    Thanks so much!

I think you have a california gray :) Dominiques do not have single combs and barred rocks don't lay white eggs.

Oh my gosh thank you! That description fits her to a T!

I think I should let the lady we bought her from know it wasn't a Barred Rock.

    :D
