Looks girly to me, Karen. I've often had BR pullets show a tad pink in the comb early and try to scare me, but everything else says it's a young lady. Cockerels usually have quite a stand-up comb by that age already.

Yep, that's a pullet. All 3 of my pullets had pink in their combs at 5 weeks, and everyone was telling me I had a bunch of cockerels. But believe me, here at 14 weeks they are 100% female. And so's yours. [IMG]

I love excuses to go back into my "baby pics"... Your little one looks just like my BR hen as a 5 wk old pullet, except yours has a little more red in the comb. So I'd vote pullet as well. [IMG]

100% pullet. yellow comb, no wattles, black streak on leg front and dark feathering. The roos are pretty easy to spot at that age.
That said, sometimes a sneaker gets in there because of questionable breeding.

Yep, there is. Pullets will have a dark wash down the front of their legs and cockerels will not. Their legs will be just yellow. At least in hatchery quality birds. The show quality like those speckledhen raises all have yellow legs. You can see some of hers here... (I'm slightly jealous, Cyn!
