I have two Barred Rocks. One I am absolutely positive based on what I have read is female and another that is I am thinking may be a roo. The only thing is that this one had feathered in a lot faster than my other and has a really dark wash down the legs. Does anybody think Roo too or could it be a hen???

My guess would be female also. But I'm basing that on the black to white ratio of the feathers and the face that her comb looks very yellow. I'm a newbie but I have 3 barred rocks also that I'm trying to figure out! :)

A pullet going through a very unfortunate ugly feathering stage. Bless her heart, the poor thing.

I was started wondering since her barring was so strong and this morning I noticed her wattles coming in underneath and thought it might be too soon for a girl this age. Thanks everyone.
