The photo is of Roxy an approximately18 week old barred rock supposedly sexed at hatching. I'm starting to wonder if she is actually a he since "she" is bigger than my 1.5 year old leg horn and red star hens. What do you think is it a Hen or a Roo?

Let me add that she/he does not appear to be crowing or trying to crow, but is way larger than any of the others (2EE&RR) that have the same hatch date.

Thank you for the response Fred. I can live with it being a mix as long as she is a hen. A roo will have to go before he starts crowing. Would you say Roo or Hen?

Looks like a rooster to me, as I think I see sickle and/or saddle feathers. And it doesn't look like a Barred Rock, either; more like a barred mix of some sort.

Alas, upon close inspection of your photo, it looks as if all the new feathers starting to poke through are those special sort of glossy, pointed rooster feathers. Also the build is suggesting rooster, to me.

Yes, x5 ROOSTER!!!
Hope you can keep him
