I have 4 barred rock chickens one of who is definitely a rooster as he is a month and a half older and started crowing but Everest is very small and blind however she is very vocal and the rooster bullied her so bad we had to remove her from the coop after three days. Any chance a roo?[IMG][/IMG]

How old is the bird in image? It has a red comb but doesn't scream cockerel to me so it could be nearing point of lay. The age of bird would cinch it.

These birds were born the first week of march so they are almost two months old. She is the smallest which again I attribute to her being blind. I have another barred rock same age with a larger red comb I was praying also isn't a roo but she has black feet and not as much of a tail.

I'm leaning toward pullet. "She" doesn't look like a purebred Barred Rock to me, though.

That's too bad. Our neighbours have a rooster and thankfully he's nice but we've had roosters before that were nasty.

The rooster is nice to the other chickens just not the blind one. What a jerk.

    Out to pasture
Please separate the blind one from your MEAN rooster before he kills it.
