barred rocks...

    i read somewhere that barred rocks lay all year long. Is that true?

    Mine do, though they take short breaks during their molts.

    I've had mine about 18 months, been laying over a year and they have never stopped laying. They slow down occassionly, but not often. 13 hens laying and get 10-12 eggs daily.

    Most do lay year round, though they do slow down to molt around this time on year, mine are molting and are still laying fairly well.

    Mine lay year round, again a bit on and off during molt, but otherwise day in, day out.
