I have 5 barred rock pullets that I got at the end of June.
Also I have 4 red laced white Cornish that I got at the end of April.

When should I expect them to start laying?

Mine where hatched at the start of the year and she has just started so I would say a couple more months.

Different strains mature at different rates, even of the same breed. They lay the day they are ready and not a moment sooner. Diet, hours of light and other things also effect the onset age of egg laying.

A nice round figure is 6 months, ie 26 weeks. Some will start a month earlier and some will start a month later, due to the factors mentioned above. Plus, even it they are hatch mates, they are still all individuals.

Yeah, I remember Jr High School. Same same.

FINALLY HAVE EGGS! I WENT OUT YESTERDAY EVENING AND THERE WAS 5 EGGS. AND THERE ARE SIX HENS IN THE COOP. Four of them were frozen solid and busted but it's a start. Now if my Cornish would just start I would be ecstatic.
