BB hen and heritage tom natural reproduction?

Is it possible for a heritage breed tom to fertilize a BB hens eggs? And do BB hens tend go go broody?

Should work once.
Why once?
BB life span is very short.
Most likely only get one season of eggs.

I never raised BB, only heritage, but what I read is 1 1/2 years is the life span of the BB compared to 15 for heritage.

Has anyone here tried to see how long they could keep a BB alive for?
