BB Red OEGB - What Gender?

Tater Tot is 3 weeks and 3 days old today, so I know it’s a little early but I also know that males and females have different colorations early on. I was just wanting to know what Tater’s looking like so far. Comb and waffles starting to develop already makes me thing roo, but I wasn’t sure if their feathers are saying something different.

That’s what our little cockerel looked like at that age. The male feathers came in at 7ish weeks for ours.

Definitely a cockerel. Cockerels feather in black breast feathers, while females get salmon. Yours is getting black breast feathers, along with that big comb.

Yeah, I was thinking it was starting to get dark on his chest. I was hoping for a girl, but I suppose he’s gonna have a blast with my standard sized girls once he’s older

I do have two sebrights but they’re the same age as him and a bit harder to tell the gender.

Okay, by the looks of it they aren’t too different from BB Reds, so black feathers growing in on the chest would mean cockerel as well.
