Beach Sand?

Is it okay to put beach sand in my run?

I was hoping it would serve two purposes...

#1- Easier to rake-over and have poop dry-out and not have muddy run

#2- A source of grit to aid in digestion?...dunno know

I wonder if the salt in beach sand would have any affect?

I use sand from the beach. Take the sand from the top of the beach. Farthest from the water.

Oh, and

I leave grit free choice, but the girls don't eat it. Sand should suffice.

I have been using beach sand for a year now. It's like having an over sized cat litter box...
