beak clipping

can people beak clip their chickens by themselves? or should i get someone professional to do it? If i can do it by myself then that would be preferable because i dont want to pay a fortune to get it done.

I've used cat toenail clippers to trim back the tip of my roosters beak. It was overgrown abit.

is that good to prevent from bad pecking. because my chicken just got brutally attacked and her neck is pretty much bare with a bloody mess. so will trimming it with a cat nail trimmer keep that from causing this to happen again.

It is not difficult at all to trim a chicken's beak. I use dog nail clippers and have blood stop on hand just in case you get the quick. I normally clip a little and then file it smooth.
