I've been searching different sites and BYC, too, and I'm having trouble finding the difference between bearded and non-bearded Silkies. Is it that non-bearded have no feathers at all on their heads??

Non-bearded whites. These guys are bad examples of Silkies as far as crest and feet, but they are definitely non-bearded.

    White bearded.

And you don't trim them at all, right?

No, lol. The crest on the 2 non bearded were slightly trimmed by the roo they were in.

Bearded vs non bearded is just that. Whither they have beards or not. They will still have crests. A non bearded will have a chin like a regular chicken while a bearded will have a chin like an EE or something.

Quote:My Song-Sung seems to make his way around all right, but I do wonder sometimes. I think his propensity to stay where I put him might have something to do with his impaired visibility. Do you use a horse whisker shaver? I imagine you got them used to the sound first?
