Opal's (previously known as Muffy) beard is coming along beautifully!

Mopsy, my darling silkie hen, is over mothering her poor single chick. The little thing is over 6 weeks and desperately wants to run and be a chicken with the chicks that are two weeks older, but mom won't let her! Mopsy screams like a kookaburra every time poor little grey gets a foot away!

I absolutely adore my girl! Even enough to say "awwww" when she's dug a foot and a half deep deep trench between the roots of the cedars to make herself cozy in!
