Exactly 10 weeks my broody is still with her chicks, er, um,,,chickens! The broody has 5, yes FIVE "chicks" around and under her.
(She's the top left splash on top of...er, um her teenage children)

    Can you beat my Record??

    Too cute!

But your record is busted. Mary (The Warden) has an Icelandic hen named Lukka still mothering her 11 week old baby.

Yea Silkies are so AWESOME.My Oldest hen hatched out some a a couple months ago,She had 3 silkie's and a few OEGB egg's.The 2 surviving OEBG's are great and she still has them with her along with one sikly. The other's We lost 2 to hawk one to dog and one to darn rat.I think she is breaking the tie's somewhat now.I went into coop tonight and the 3 have picked a nest box and she is roosting on an old table I keep in there to get on the check high nest boxes. Silkie's Rock! Great Pic Ty for sharing.

How funny and adorable! [IMG] Reminds me of when one of my serama cockerels was still sleeping under his mother's wing--when he was larger than she was (aged about five months)! I wish I had gotten a picture now. [IMG]

Wowsas! Hilarious picture of her trying to sit on top of her chicks. I wonder if they'll go broody before she finishes mothering??

    Beautiful birds btw!
