Whats a suitable bedding for baby chicks

I like to use crushed corn cob bedding . It is absorbent and doesn’t clump like shavings can. It seems to stay clean longer than shavings also.

I’m using sand for my chicks and they seem to be really enjoying it. It’s cheap, easy to clean, and doesn’t stink. The only downside to it is that they get sand in the waterer, so you’ve gotta go in a couple times a day to empty out the sand so they can drink again.

I might use wood shavings, just wanna know, will the chicks eat it?

I use wood heating pellets when I'm forced to incubate/brood.

I used large flake shavings, which are less likely to be accidentally eaten, and covered them with paper towels for the first couple days while they learned what was and wasn't food.
