Greetings Everyone,
Been lurking here for months since my family decided to start a backyard flock. We were planning to get 6 chicks, a new store (forget the name, just like TSC) just opened, and had them 1/2 off for their grand opening. Went to pick them up and there were 7 left. Couldn't just leave one little chick behind...so we got all 7 (chicken math at it simplest).
Did the standard brooder in the rubbermaid container, then worked on building the coop. We kept the brooder in the house...won't be doing that next time
We got them at the end of September, and today we got our first 4 eggs. My wife went nuts when I walked out of the coop with them. I guess I should get to building the nest boxes soon.
The girls are Isa Browns, I believe from Townline.
Thanks for all the help from everyone...without this forum as a resource, I would be lost.
Brian
