I can only seem to find info on comparisons between these two for egg color and appearance. What I'd really like to know if how different/similar they are when it comes to egg production numbers and behaviors.

I also have a follow up question - are EEs always Ameraucana x Araucana crosses, or can it be any Ameraucana cross? I got my hands on Ameraucana x Brahma, Ameraucana x Barred Rock, and Ameraucana x Leghorn eggs (eggs from Ameraucana mothers, don't know for sure which breeds the fathers were until they hatch). Would the chicks from these crosses be considered Easter Eggers?

All I can say is what I’ve read in my own research. I’ve never had an Ameraucana. I’ve bought chickens labeled as Ameraucanas but they have all been EEs (and I knew that before I bought them). My understanding is if you have a TRUE Ameraucana or Araucana and you breed it with any other breed the result will be an Easter Egger. I believe you will get a better production rate from an EE than an Ameraucana or Araucana. If your eggs are from all the crosses mentioned above you should have a very interesting mix of birds and a variety of egg colors. I wouldn’t hesitate to raise those crosses just to see the results. My EEs have always been friendly birds. If you can post some pics of the Ameraucana or Araucana hens, members here will be able to tell if they are really Ameraucana or Araucana hens and not EEs.

Anyone feel free to correct any miss-info I may have posted.

EEs should lay more than pure Ameraucana because most of them are hatchery stock and they care about producing more than to breed for a standard like Ameraucana

Thanks for the help, guys. I didn't take pics of the hens, but I did see them. They were either lavender or blue (saw them at a distance) with a light red color splash. They may have been EEs, but I also have pure Ameraucana eggs in the incubator from a different source, so I'll see what those give me.
