Best brooder for a small ammt of chicks?

Hi all! What is a good brooder that doesn’t cost the earth? Or can I just use heat lamp and box? I made the mistake of buying a cheap Chinese incubator and after reading the fire hazard reviews swiftly returned and bought a brinsea off eBay. Don’t want to make the same mistake with a brooder. Any advice for brooders around the £30 mark second hand appreciated xx

Big cardboard box, small tent without the fly, a medium dog crate, large aquarium etc.
Chicks double in size every week, bigger is better to start with.

You need a consistent heat source plus the ambient temperature of the room should be cooler to allow the chicks to cool off away from the heat source.

They need to be kept at 30-32 degrees for a few weeks, and have cooler area to go to.
