Ducks and geese7
Songster
I wanted to get some new ducks. I was wondering which breed of duck will have the most possibility of becoming broody. I want her to lay on the eggs and hatch them.

I'll consider muscovies as I have never had one before but they are very beautiful.Muscovies are known for going broody! They would be best option but also buff's seem to be good broodies!
Okay I willIm sure other people will chime in with other great breeds but everyone seems to say muscovy's are the best at going broody and also being mama! Keep us updated
Any Way to tell what duck is a call duck when they are babies. I usually get my ducks at a feed store or at tractor supply in spring and all there ducks are together and they don't know the breed of them. Would I have to get it from someone who breeds call ducks? My Calls are great Broody Hens and mothers.![]()
I'm pretty sure you will have to locate a breeder. Farm stores don't sell ornamental Ducks.Any Way to tell what duck is a call duck when they are babies.
