Local eggs. No particular breed, just proven backyard birds that do not have to be shipped. That said, classroom hatches are always a challenge. Have a backup plan and a second bunch of chicks to bring if the classroom incubator does not pan out.

For the school hatches I've been involved in, between no heating on weekends/nights, and kids touching the incubator.... let's just say the backup bunch was always essential.
