    hi,
I have all my chickens in very large enclosures (because of many fox attacks), but I had too many roosters in one coop, and they were picking on one, so I separated him and he is now free ranging. he does great free range (and flys well, so he can stay away from the predators) and I want him to stay free range, so I wanted to get him a hen or two that could keep him company. he is a bantam cochin, so the breed I get has to be well suited for him. here are other factors that are a must for the breed I get:
    1. Has to be very friendly and easily handled
    2. Has to be good at avoiding predators (we have a HUGE fox population)
    thanks!

Human friendly birds that are easily handled will probably be the first to get caught by predators. If you have a huge fox population then eventually all of your free range birds will probably be picked off one by one.
