We have recently bought a ranch in Sulphur Springs, Tx. In 1997, this place use to be an Ostrich ranch. There are two huge incubator closets and three racks that rotate 161 ostrich eggs each. I want to convert the racks to hold turkey eggs. Any suggestions?

Is raising turkeys profitable in East Texas? How do I find out about processing, wrapping, and marketing our birds? What is the best breed to raise and sell in Texas? Any advice would be helpful. We are beginners. The turkeys could be free range.

    Hi R1Ranch!

I know very little about turkeys or breeding birds for sale. You might want to check the following threads to see if anyone has more information that may be helpful:

Congratulations on your new Ranch! With that history, I'd be really tempted to hatch some ostriches, rheas, or emus! (LOL) Sounds like fun although turkeys would probably be more practical.
