We've had a rough couple months with our flock. Lots of stress, sickness and now I've found lice. I've read this can cause weight loss and I'm pretty sure my girls need to bulk up. They get pellets, corn and kitchen scraps. Any good suggestions for high calorie yummies that I can give them?

Do they like seed blocks? You can make your own with suet and seeds/feed. Just melt the suet in a pan, or use right after you drain some from meat you're cooking, mix with seed and put in a container/or muffin pan to set. I keep mine in the fridge until serving.

Bread is empty calories and can jam up their crop.

I put yogurt and kefir in their crumble and mix it up. They get a special bowl of this daily when I am not working. I am trying to get their weight up a bit, too. There have been some issues with dominance and access to the feeder.
