Okay I know she's female as I found 8 (good to eat) beautiful eggs today. Real thick shells, well formed, and beige in color. They're a little small but hubby & I have been eating double yolkers for about a month (we buy them at the local farmer's market).

Do you all know what breed she is though? She's about 4 years old as near as we can tell... we sort of inherited her. She only has that gold lacing around her neck & head. The rest of her is solid black. She has yellow legs.

Hmmm.....she certainly is a pretty girl (and I love it that she crows!!!). Could she be a black sex link? That is just a wild guess but my BSL baby is coloring out somewhat like that.

Edit: oopsy...I was a little slow there. [IMG]

Now, it does look like you may be right. But what yellow legged bird has a beard?

Do you have any other pics of her?

As she has a beard and a pea comb, most likely an easter egger. Easter Eggers are bred pretty much randomly, as to color or even outcrossed to other breeds, which can explain her yellow leg color.. actually it's basically more or less a coincidence that most EE have blue or green legs.

Probably not even a hatchery EE but more likely an EE mix. So a mixed mix?

    Very pretty girl! [IMG]
