We are moving the ducklings out to the big coop this weekend. They will be 6 weeks old and temps are in the 70sday/upper40s+ at night. I will have a heat lamp for them. The plan is to have them cordoned off in a metal dog kennel secured to the wall in one corner. My question is, at night when they are in the coop, should I keep the drakes in a totally different secure area outside the coop? Will they be jerks, well, more than normal? And all the babies are girls. We plan to keep them totally separate until they are fully feathered and the same size, at least the drakes. Will drakes try to breed with immature ducks?

Yes, I expect they would try it.

I responded on the other thread, it sounds like you have a pretty good grip on the situation.
