Birth of a Poppy Flower (PIX)

This morning I was surprised to see a poppy flower emerging from the bud stage. I missed very first stage of the bud opening. But, I got there to see the bud still attached to the flower head.
Here it is as it was being "born."

I thought it was going to be orange, but as it opened up it was a bright yellow.

And just as it is suppose to happen, there as I was photographing, a bee stopped by to do some pollenating!

And there were a couple other things that caught my eye in the garden today...
A strawberry with the first blush of getting ripe.

and a very huge Nasturshim leaf

Too bad my chickens don't like to eat Nasturshim leaves!
I have a bumper crop of them this year!
 
I use nasturtium leaves and flowers in tossed salads. The leaves have a peppery flavor that mixes well with milder greens and the flowers add color. Your pictures made me hungry!
