Its colouring. Light head dark body. Spots on back and a frosted looking down. I've hatched a few chicks and never seen one look like that.

Down feather color may be dramatically different than mature feather color. What's more is that you crossed 2 different varieties of silkies. That means the result is anybody's guess.

I'm not trying to be flippant but I don't know how people cross breeds and/or varieties and expect some predetermined outcome or are then surprised with what they get.
If one doesn't mate hens and cocks of the same breed and variety, there is no breeding true to the expectation.
